I live for creativity. My sister brought home a huge pad of art paper from a class at the University of Tennessee when I was just ten. I remember being so happy that I could draw and see perspective at that age. I continued to draw and was able to take art classes in high school. I went to college and receive a degree in Graphic Arts. We had to take many classes during that time, and I learned to refine my skills. It was during this time that I learned how to duplicate an image with a pencil drawing and create a picture that looked like a photograph.
It has been many years since then. My love for art has changed several times in those years. I went from being a literal artist to learning how to be subjective. I didn’t have to draw the entire face – I could imply with the perspective and let the viewer fill in the lines. Since then I married an amazing artist that owned his own concrete finishing business. He taught me how to use mixed media and elements to manipulate objects to create art. He taught me the chemistry of resin and epoxy. And I have blossomed into a different era.
How old were you when you fell in-love with art?
